Half a mini review, LOL : Okies, so I downloaded the audio version of this book which only included Tempted By Her Innocent Kiss but the physical book includes 2 stories, thus half a review. Anywho, TBHIK is a quick story about a vivacious heiress who's father wants to make sure his little (adult) girl is taken care of but also wants to make sure his company is too before he decides to retire. He gets the brilliant idea to make an arrangement with an up and coming rival company to do a merger that includes his daughter. The man he has chosen agrees (because he's power hungry) and courts the daughter before the take over to smooth the playing field before he asks her to marry him thereby closing the deal. His one stipulation is that she never knows about it. He figures he likes her well enough and can mold her into the perfect CEO's wife after they seal the deal. All's good right...wrong! Soon she agrees to marry him, only on their honeymoon, she finds an email from her father to her new husband spelling out the deal, ooops! Yeah, so then it just drags on.
I love me some Maya Banks but I gotta tell you, I hated the Hero and not in a good way, I hated the Heroine and not in a good way. The story is archaic and I didn't feel like there was any reason for them to find a HEA besides it's good for business. I kinda felt that the girl and the guy were better off apart and that there's no real chemistry between them. I wanted the girl to stand up for herself, scream at her family and be indignant but she just rolls over and takes it (up to a point) and then the man (who's quite an ass if you ask me) decides, oh maybe I do love her and should fix this before I loose everything.....seriously???I'd say skip this book.

This was a nice short story .... I loved Ash.. She was amazing ... Devon was good. I liked how Ash fought for not only her love but also for herself ...
that was the best part ..

I like maya banks. Contemporary, easy to read, predictable but well developed. I could not get into this storyline or the characters: He lies to her and cheats her into marriage and her reaction? I will make him love me.
No character, no backbone - I can't believe her falts before I get a chance to like her. How should I get into any kind of groove between those two, listening to his constant rambling about changing her and having to suffer through her family, while she loves him, is happily maki

No character, no backbone - I can't believe her falts before I get a chance to like her. How should I get into any kind of groove between those two, listening to his constant rambling about changing her and having to suffer through her family, while she loves him, is happily making plans while beeing lied to. Of course there is nearly no kind of working for equal footing (he crawling on his knees, she beeing strong and self-reliant enough to stand up for HER rights, dreams and basic respect - except for a short part at the end, but the plot up to that point was way too painful).
Had to quit halfway through (she found out, he yells at her because it's her fault for beeing finding out and her lack of self control), because books like that are plenty and I don't like any of them. But I give it to the author, I still wanted to find out how it ended... I continued. But in the end: While he berates her for beeing too naive, explaining why she does not need to know the truth, how love has no meaning and he really wants her still, he has hints of a bad conscious. Means: the story and characters are inconsequential, constructed and for me absolutely unrelatable. I got whiplash with all the tremendous realizations and monologs the characters had and liked hardly (therefore the 2 stars) any of them. Had to fear for my kindle at times. My recommendation would be to skip this one.

rating 'tempted by her innocent kiss' only.
as far as harlequin books go, this one wasn't too bad. i don't know why authors take pleasures in having women lose themselves for a man who doesn't deserve them and is that blind (maybe it's for women who think existing for men is a good thing ? in fiction they are rewarded for their selflessness so who cares if they're only dating losers, one of them WILL tur' out good?). either way, it ash was still a good character and the book was still enjoyable

Having never read Maya Banks before I was pleased with this as an introduction to her style of writing. I look forward to seeking out other titles and perhaps genres of this author soon.

This trope is an old one yet Ms. Banks still makes it fresh in a way that I enjoyed it. Ashley is no spoiled princess. She's a sweet and fun loving woman. Her spontaneity is the best thing about her. Devon is not exactly a stick in the mud. He is a determined man who earned his success through hard work. Their lack of communication and false start is the downfall. It's a train wreck that both Devon and the readers know will happen yet we can't stop it.

I liked Devon. He wanted to do the right thing and he's not a bad guy. Yes he made some stupid mistakes and he didn't really get to know Ashley. I'd say the same thing about Ashley. She made a foolish mistake and compounded it. Where other stories go south for me, Tempted by Her Innocent Kiss did not because Ms. Banks cleverly designs these characters. These characters aren't victims. They don't play the woe is me card. They are sad and regretful, but they push on to try and make it better. I think this is why I enjoyed the story so much. I liked both Devon and Ashley who weren't flawless yet they were perfect for each other.

Plus, Ms. Banks creates beautiful scenes and her stories just flow so well. This was a sweet story which moved fast with a guaranteed happily ever after. I recommend this story to romance lovers who want a happily ever after despite a very rocky start.
